# Advanced Buy X Get Y

> Use advanced BXGY when you need precise qualification rules, exclusions, order minimums, and strict discount targeting.

Advanced Buy X Get Y is for campaigns where simple BXGY is not strict enough.

## Best Use Cases

* Wholesale or B2B thresholds
* Mixed product requirements
* Minimum order total plus item-level minimums
* Precise targeting with exclusions and purchase-type constraints

## Key Controls

* X-side qualification:
  * per-item minimum quantity or spend
  * per-collection quantity requirements
  * minimum order total
  * one-time vs subscription constraints
* Y-side targeting:
  * specific products or collections
  * free, amount off, percent off, fixed price
  * optional prorated discount that spreads savings across Buy X and Get Y items
  * optional requirement that only fully qualified lines can be discounted
* Limit behavior:
  * max discount per order
  * multiple uses per order

## Example

<Callout>
  Wholesale rule: cart must be at least USD 3,500, and each qualifying SKU must have 10+ units. Then apply 40% off only to those qualifying lines.
</Callout>

## When to Use Prorated Discount in Advanced BXGY

Advanced BXGY includes the same **Prorated discount** option as standard BXGY, but it is especially useful when:

* qualifying and discounted items have very different prices
* the same campaign mixes exclusions, order minimums, or precise target rules
* you want the final savings spread across the full matched set instead of concentrated on the Get Y side

Leave it off when the campaign message depends on the customer clearly seeing one item as the discounted or free line.
