Once a batch is Ready and an offer uses it, share the codes with customers. This page covers how to get the codes out of Atom Commerce and some ways to use them.

Download the codes

  1. Open the batch and go to the Codes in Batch tab, or tick the batch in the list.
  2. Select Download.
  3. Include the Redemption link if you want each customer to get a link that applies their code automatically. Without it, the file has the codes only.
  4. Confirm. You get a CSV file.
See Managing coupon batches for details.
Customers can also type a code in Shopify’s discount code field at checkout, or in the Cart Coupon field if you have added it to your cart.
Use a redemption link when you send codes by email or message. The customer taps the link, and the code is applied to their cart, so nothing needs to be typed or copied.

Email

  1. Download the codes, with redemption links if you like.
  2. Import the file into your email platform, matching one code to each recipient.
  3. Build the campaign with the code or link as a merge field, then schedule and send it.
Tips for email:
  • Mention the discount in the subject line.
  • Tell customers when the offer ends. The end date comes from the offer, not the batch. See dates.
  • Test the email with a real code before sending to your whole list.

Social media and influencers

  • Give each influencer or channel its own batch, or its own set of codes, so you can see what works.
  • Add the redemption link to posts, bios, and stories. Include the code in the text as well, so people can type it if they prefer.

In store

  • Print codes on cards, flyers, or receipts, or turn redemption links into QR codes that customers can scan.
  • Train staff to hand out cards, and keep a record of which cards went where.

Timing

  • Welcome: send a code to new subscribers or first-time customers.
  • Cart recovery: send a code to customers who left without buying.
  • Win-back: send a code to customers who have not bought in a while.
  • Holidays and birthdays: send codes ahead of key dates.

Check what is being used

The Codes in Batch tab shows a Uses count for each code. To compare channels, create a separate batch for each one, and compare how many of its codes were used. To see how the offers on a batch perform overall, use Analytics.
